Last week, I attended a luncheon co-hosted by Isilon and Datalink. I was very interested to find out more about Isilon's offerings - both as a possible storage solution for use internally and as a storage platform that we may want to have tight integration for within Alpha Five. I was impressed with what Isilon has available and the ideas have been swirling around in my head ever since.
Now today there is the announcement that EMC is acquiring Isilon for $2.25B. I can't say that I'm surprised, given Isilon's fairly unique approach to what they call "scale-out" storage.
